The Artists' Soiree, Auction and Excellence in Drawing Awards

 

The occasion marked an important event in the Arts Calender.  This annual

gathering of artists, art dealers, critics and members of the Arts Club,

attracts artists of stature, not only from London but from all over the country.

 

The Arts Club Charitable Trust was established in 2000 to promote,

maintain, improve and advance education in the arts by the encouragement

of sculpture, painting, design, drawing, printmaking, graphics, poetry,

literature, film, photography, dance, music and craftspersonship

in all the media processes.

Sir Peter Blake presented valuable financial prizes to young artists who

had excelled in drawing.

 

The auction, conducted by Harvey Cammell from Bonhams, was organised

by Wendy Harman.  The event gave guests the opportunity to meet the

artists involved.

Overall, the management of the event by Brian Clivaz and the brilliant

delivery of cordon-bleu cuisine to a vast retenue of gourmets, was

a work of art in its own right!
